What classes do you offer?

Immaculate Conception School offers classes for pre-school, ages  4, through eighth grade.  There are double classes at each level with Instructional aide assistance in the primary grades. Spanish is taught in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Students in kindergarten through 8th grade are taught computer skills.

How many students attend Immaculate Conception School?

I.C. serves over 500 students in  grades K - 8,  in addition to 3 pre-school classrooms.

Does Immaculate Conception have a uniform policy?

Immaculate Conception students, grades 1 - 8, wear the prescribed Springfield Catholic Schools uniform.

What are your school hours?

School Office Hours - 8:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.

Building Open - 7:30 a.m. Students gather in

Cafeteria for grades Preschool - 5

 Fine Arts Room for grades 6-8

Students go to classrooms – 8:00 a.m.

Classes - 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Morning Preschool- 8:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.

Afternoon Preschool- 12:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Early Dismissal Days

We dismiss at 12:00 for System or District Faculty In-service twice a year in the fall and spring.

 

School dismisses at 1:30 on the first Friday of each month for grades K-8.

Does I. C. have an after-school program?

We offer afternoon care from 11:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. for morning preschool students

at the following rates for 2008-2009

4 days per week

$145 per month

5 days per week

$165 per month

 

In addition, the Springfield Family Y offers an on-site Primetime program for all students 5 years of age or older for I.C. students from 3:15 - 6:00 p.m.  For complete information, including the costs regarding this program, please contact the Springfield Family Y Primetime Program at 417 862-7456.

Do you serve hot lunches?

Hot lunches are offered daily or students may bring lunch.  The hot lunch program is part of the Federal School Lunch Program.  Families may apply for free or reduced rate lunch.  Menus are published monthly.  Lunch rotation, pre-school through 8th grade is from 11:10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily (for schedule breakdown by class please see the lunch calendar). The cost of a student lunch is $1.75 & includes milk.  5-Meal Ticket is $8.75.  20-Meal Ticket is $35.00.  Milk or juice purchased separately is $.50.   Adult lunches are available, (please let us know early in the day), for $2.00.

Does Immaculate Conception School have computers?

Yes, we have a Media Center for whole class instruction and each classroom is equipped with a computer. Both Media Center and classrooms have internet access.

Is Religion taught every day?

Religion is considered a core subject at Immaculate Conception School, therefore, it is taught daily and integrated into all areas of curriculum.  In addition to classroom teacher presentations, parish staff members including the pastor, associate pastor, pastoral minister, and youth coordinator teach religion on a regular basis.  Also, students in grades 1 - 8  attend Mass twice a week.
