Would like to introduce you to a compelling reason to further think about the distinctiveness of Catholic thought and Catholic higher education. A $10,000 scholarship over fours years at DeSales University ($2,500 per year). Since fall 2005, the Department of Philosophy and Theology at DeSales University has sponsored the National Catholic Essay contest. In addition to the essay contest for this year, students will also have the opportunity to compete in the National Catholic Film Contest sponsored by the DeSales Department of Philosophy & Theology. Scholarship assistance will be offered to the winners of both contests. Qualified applicants to the University may utilize the award towards tuition costs at DeSales University. Recognizing the importance for students to contemplate the intersection of faith and culture, this offering is aligned with the rich educational heritage of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, and the mission of the University to enrich the human community and to enhance the dignity of the individual through its educational endeavors. In its work, the University fosters a vital and respectful dialogue between Roman Catholic faith and human culture.
