The Horatio Alger Association annually awards $12 million in college scholarships and grants making it one of the nations largest scholarship providers. Scholarships are awarded annually to students who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Scholarship criteria also includes 2009 high school graduates and commitment to pursue a bachelor's degree. Scholarships for deserving students range from $2,500 to $20,000.
