Happy Thanksgiving everyone! When I take a moment to count my blessings this year, you can be sure I will be counting you and your children among them! Be safe if you are traveling and enjoy your loved ones! If your child would like to share something or someone that they are thankful for next week, that would be wonderful!! The following week, Nov. 28th to Dec. 2nd, the sharing letter will be the short i sound as in “igloo” or “pig.”

Happy fall, everyone! The sharing letter for next week will be the short a sound, as in the word, “Apple.” Don’t forget to turn in the permission slips and 2.50 for our farm field trip.

Please remember that the sharing letter for Sept. 12-19th is the short Oo sound as in “otter.” Let’s try to find a word to share that has that sound in the middle, such as “doll” or “dog.” The sharing letter for Sept’ 19-23rd will be the hard Gg sound, as in the word, “gull.” Thanks!

The Smarties have been working hard in Kindergarten, and I so appreciate all their efforts to learn our routines and follow our Kindergarten rules! Next week our sharing letter will be, “Oo,” as in octopus! Start thinking about your clues soon! Thanks, and enjoy the long weekend!

We have survived the first full week of school, and I think that we are off to a great start! Thanks so much to everyone who can out to see us Thursday night! I really appreciate all that you do for your children and our school!

Next week please remember that we have school pictures on Tuesday. The children may be out of uniform that day, but it is a PE day for us so be careful of the shoes you choose. Also, remember to send your money in an envelope if you wish to buy the pictures.

We will have a 1:30 dismissal on Friday, Sept. 2nd. That will be our first “Fab Friday,” so the boys and girls may wear their T shirts if they have them. We have been advised by the office, that the Kindergarten will not be joining in our “Fab Families” until later in the year, but Mrs. Mulrenin and I have planned something fun for them to do! Have a restful weekend!

Happy spring everybody! This is just a friendly reminder that our Easter egg hunt will take place in the outdoor classroom on Wednesday, April 20th, at 2:35. Please bring in one dozen treated filled, sealed eggs in an egg carton labeled with your child’s name by Monday, April 18th. Thank you for helping the bunny out, and a very blessed Easter to you and yours!

We had a full week of school with nice weather–Hooray! Next week the sharing letter will still be “Rr,” but let’s have the Smarites share something that ends with the letter R, such as: water or father. Remember that there will not be school on Monday, in honor of Presidents’ Day. Enjoy the weekend!

It is hard to believe that the end of the First Quarter is at hand, and Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 28th, and Friday, Oct. 29th. Hope to see everyone there! If you have any questions or concerns, this a a great opportunity to visit! We will still be working on the letter Ss next week, so your child may choose any Superkid letter that we have covered so far for their sharing letter. This week our sharing assignment is to bring in an example of one of God’s amazing creatures! The sharing can begin with any letter and that could be one of the clues. Your child could bring in a favorite stuffed animal, photo, drawn and colored picture, computer image, etc. Next week our sharing letter will be the hard “Gg” sound as in the word, “Goat.” Have a nice week!

It was so nice to meet everyone last week at the Ice Cream Social, and our Kindergarten year is off to a very good start! These early weeks of school can be tiring for your little one, because he/she is still adjusting to spending all day at school! Please try to make sure your son/daughter is getting enough sleep at night, and a good breakfast each morning. Reading to your child each evening is one of the most valuable things that you can do to promote literacy growth and it is so much fun as well! Our sharing letter for the week of Aug. 23-27 is “Cc,” with the hard C sound as in the word, “Cat.” Thanks for your support and have a great week!
