Upcoming Dates to Put on Your Calendar
We have several important events coming up in first grade and I wanted to give you an early “heads up” Please add these to your calendar:
-May 10: Zoo field trip 11:30-2:30…Send lunch in a disposable bag. A cooler will be provided for drinks. Please put name on things! Wear tennis shoes, uniform, and jacket if cool. If you have a Friends of the Zoo pass, please make a copy for admission purposes and I’ll refund your $3.00. (I just found out that we could do this.)
-Field Day: Thursday, May16th in the afternoon
-Last Day of School: Friday, May 17th (12:00 Dismissal)
We would love to have some parent helpers for the zoo field trip on May 10th. The cost will be $5.00 if you don’t have a “Friends of the Zoo” pass. You would meet us at the zoo around 12 and we would leave around 2:10 ish. Please e-mail me if you’d like to help. Thanks!
Homework for the Week
We’re finished with homework for the year!!!! Yea! The countdown has begun.
The children will however be tested on the “Hail Mary” for religion this week and “Unit 5 Words” for reading.
There will be no spelling test, since we are unit testing in reading.
Studying for Spelling Tests
One of our moms, Angie Homeyer, was kind enough to “load” all of our first grade spelling lists on to the website, spelling city. Please check out this link. I promise that your child will enjoy using this method to study! This will only include the list of 10 words for the grade. (Each classroom has different Challenge Words.) Simply follow this link to help your child try it out! http://www.spellingcity.com/AJHomeyer
