What grades do you offer?

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton currently offers preschool through 6th grade. We will be adding one grade per year until we have preschool through eighth grade. For the 2012-2013 school year we will be adding 7th grade. We departmentalize Science and Math currently at 6th and 7th grades. We will add communication arts to that rotation in 8th grade.

What preschool program is offered?

The 3 year and 4 year old preschool programs are currently 1/2 day intensive programs with an additional 1/2 day available for those who desire their child to have the advantage of attending all day and gaining the additional time of instruction and enrichment. Children can come as early as 7:20 a.m. (breakfast is available ) and have the additional option of staying after 3:15 as late as 6:30 if need be. Additional fees apply for the extended day time. could be in our school as early as 7:20 until 6:00 p.m. if need be.

Do students wear uniforms?

Students in K through 8 wear school uniforms, available locally at Anna Sophia’s in the Brentwood Center and Land's End ( SCRIP cards apply). Consult the handbook for more information.

How much is tuition at SEAS?

Catholic Rate 2012-2013 (in supporting Parish) for K-8 is $3,377 per student per year. Based on information you submit, you could possibly qualify for a discount of 17%, 32%, or 47%. Catholic Rate outside a supporting Parish is $4,515 and the same discounts could apply. Non-Catholic rate is $4,515 per year with no discount. The tuition rate changes every year due to cost increases and inflation fluctuation.

Is There a hot lunch program?

SEAS provides a daily hot lunch. The hot lunch program is part of the Federal School Lunch Program. Families may apply for free or reduced lunch. Lunch prices are $2.25. Students also have the availability to add items al a carte and we are looking into the possibility of a fresh salad bar daily.

What are the school hours?

Office hours are from 7:45 to 3:45. Building is open at 7:30, students gather in cafeteria. At 8:00 students go to classrooms. Classes are held from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. All students are expected to be picked up between 3:15 and 3:30 p.m.

Do you have a morning and or afterschool program?

The Springfield Family Y Primetime program is available on site for students, 5 years old and up after school from 3:15 to 6:30 p.m. At this time no YMCA morning program is offered however students are allowed in the cafeteria with an Aide as early as 7:20 a.m. and breakfast is offered until 7:50 a.m. Students pray and say the Pledge of Allegiance at 8:00 am and proceed to their classes. The morning program is free except for the cost of breakfast if you desire.

An extended program for students 3-5 years of age is available in the evenings from 3:15 pm until 6:30 pm for students. These students are housed separate from the YMCA students. They stay in the Preschool room and have their own program. This is available 1 or 2 days and 3-5 all for an additional cost.

Does St. Elizabeth Ann Seton have a computer lab?

Yes, SEAS has a stationary computer lab equipped with 30 computers available to all students with teachers instructing using a variety of software. We also have a mobile computer lab with 30 Laptops fully equipped with the latest software. Additionally, we have Flip Cameras for student and teacher use, IPADS, SENTEO Response systems, Smart Boards, Projectors and Document Cameras in all classrooms. All computers in the lab have access to the internet and the building is wireless. Grades 4 through 8 receive instruction in keyboarding and in other applications from a certified technology teacher. Every classroom has at least one computer as well.

How often do students attend Mass?

SEAS students attend Mass weekly on Thursday 8:30. Parents are always welcome and invited to bring their children to daily mass offered at 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 pm on Wednesdays. Students and staff also attend Stations of the Cross during Lent and we pray the Rosary during Advent. Additional Mass times are added throughout the year.
