LAND ACQUISITION
What do you have in common with Andrew Carnegie, Bill Gates and John Q. Hammons? If you donate money to the Springfield Catholic Land Acquisition Fund, you will have something in common with them. While their legacies may be for libraries, medical aid, or baseball fields, your legacy will be at Springfield Catholic Schools. You, like these philanthropists, will be giving money to improve the lives of future generations.
Ten acres of land adjacent to the high school was purchased last year. The land was purchased to provide a buffer to the campus of the high school and to allow for future growth. Presently, there are no designated plans for the property. The land could be used for ball fields, parking, high school expansion, a middle school, an early learning center or some other unforeseen need. The future use of the land will be determined by future generations of Springfield Catholic families.
The purchase price was approximately $510,000. The land recently appraised for over $900,000. As Springfield grows and the area around the high school develops, the land would be unavailable or be priced out of reach for future generations to acquire. That is why the land was acquired now.
Approximately $340,000 has been raised in donations and pledges to date. We need to raise the remaining $170,000 as soon as possible to keep our interest costs to a minimum. We need your support.
We ask all alumni, family and friends of the Springfield Catholic School System to be a part of a legacy. Help us give to the future generations of our school. Please fill out the attached pledge card and send it in today.
Thank You,
David Duncan
