About SCRIP

We are pleased to bring a new fundraising program to Immaculate Conception school. Called "SCRIP", it’s the fundraising program that works while you shop.

Scrip is simply a word that means "substitute money" - in other words, SCRIP is gift cards from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift cards that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our SCRIP program including Harter House, Dillon's, Price Cutter, JCPenney, The Gap, Lowe’s, Pizza Hut, Subway, A&B Cycle and many, many others.

You’re probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money. It’s simple -- SCRIP participating retailers agree to sell gift cards to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the gift cards for full face value redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue. And SCRIP is exciting, because everybody wins:

The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business
IC gets a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling
You only spend money you would spend anyway on your normal purchases

The beauty of SCRIP is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our school without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with SCRIP gift cards at the stores that participate in the SCRIP program! And SCRIP can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out.

How it works

The term "SCRIP" is simply a term that means substitute money (SCRIP = gift cards). When IC families purchase SCRIP, they're purchasing full value gift cards that are used just like cash. SCRIP is issued by retailers where many of our IC families already shop for food, clothing and other essentials. When you purchase these gift cards through IC SCRIP, the retailers return a percentage of the gift cards value back to IC Home and School. This is how IC SCRIP has generated over $24,500 in SCRIP profit since October 2007.

Here is an example of how SCRIP works:
Step 1. The Decker family places a weekly SCRIP order for $100 in Harter House gift cards.
Step 2. Harter House sells IC the gift cards at a 5% discount for $95 leaving $5 in SCRIP profit.
Step 3. The Decker family receives $100 in gift cards (full face value) to spend at Harter House anytime they choose.

The Deckers are also 100 points closer to a trip to Disneyland because they bought their SCRIP inline at ic.scriporder.com using their Disney credit card, If the Deckers place this order every week for a year they will accumulate 5200 Disney points!

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Can I pay for scrip with a credit card?

Answer: YES!!! We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover for payment. This will allow you the convenience of not sending a check to school with your child, and allow you to build up your frequent flyer miles or other credit card rewards. You will be charged a $3 convenience fee on each order for this service.

Question: What happens if my child forgets to turn in my check as payment for SCRIP?

Answer: We will not be able to process your order without your payment. In order to process SCRIP orders and receive gift card shipments in a timely manner we must adhere to the Thursday 8:15 a.m. deadline for payment receipt.

Question: Can I use the gift cards online? Do the gift cards expire?

Answer: Each retailer has its own usage guidelines. Most are not restrictive, but some will have specific guidelines for using that card. For a complete list of retailers and their guidelines visit www.glscrip.com/retailerlist. This link will enable you to browse retailers by category and alphabetically. You will find terms and conditions for every gift card available to our school from Great Lakes Scrip. To simplify our ic.scriporder.com webpage we have placed only the most popular gift cards from Great Lakes Scrip on our site. FYI, while visiting www.glscrip.com/retailerlist you CANNOT order cards from this site even though it shows a shopping cart. This site is simply to be used as a reference tool. If you are interested in ordering gift cards from a retailer that is on the www.glscrip.com/retailerlist and not on the ic.scriporder.com website please email a SCRIP coordinator at icscrip@scspk12.org with your request. We will be happy to add any retailer to ic.scriporder.com that you want. We encourage you to check out each retailer you shop with before ordering so you won't have any surprises or difficulties using the gift cards. Orders are due by Thursday morning at 8:15am.

Orders will be ready for pick-up the FOLLOWING Thursday 2:30 - 3:15pm.

Order & Payment process for ordering and paying online

1. Register (first time only) or login at: ic.scriporder.com. Now you can register yourself and get your ID and password right away!
2. To pay online with a credit card: Click on "Order Form" under online ordering on the left hand side of the home page
3. Purchase gift cards by clicking on “add” next to the name of the card
4. When you are done adding gift cards to your shopping cart click on the "review your order" button
5. Confirm your order and check the appropriate option to either "pick-up" your order or "send home w/ child"
6. Select "credit card" for your payment option. There will be a $3 convenience fee added to the total order amount for this service.
7.Select "place your order", you are not done yet, you must then enter your credit card information to complete the transaction
8. Click on "pay online" to enter your credit card information. For your protection we do not save any credit card information, therefore your credit card information must be input every time you place an order.

Your order will be sent home with your oldest child or ready for you to pick up on the FOLLOWING Thursday from 2:30-3:15. We have selected the most popular gift cards to be on ic.scriporder.com. We do have access to over 400 gift cards from the company we purchase most of our SCRIP from, Great Lakes Scrip.
