SCHS provides for a normal range of learning differences, but does not provide direct special education instruction. Students can be served whose instructional program requires minimal modification.

Administrative services are provided to coordinate the screening, diagnostic evaluation, and placement of students who qualify for special education. SCHS will comply with definition of disability in the Missouri Plan for the Individuals with Disability Education Act (IDEA) and with a current Individual Education Program (IEP). An IEP, developed by a team with input from SCHS and the student’s parents, will be generated by the public school district in which the student resides.

All direct instructional services will be delivered through the special education department of the public school district. Modification of curriculum, instruction, assignments, and/or assessment will be implemented in the area of disability as set forth in the IEP.
