Study and Prepare Assignments
Show Me - Muéstrame
Learning a foreign language should be an enjoyable learning
experience for the children. In order to increase the enjoyment and learning of
a foreign language, students will receive Study and Prepare assignments giving
them the opportunity to reinforce in-class lessons and to prepare them for class
participation. The participation grade is based on both the quantity and the
quality of the student’s participation. Quality is determined by active
participation in class activities, by having their textbook, by coming to class
prepared having studied, by volunteering, by being prepared when called on, and
by listening attentively when others are speaking.
Students are to anticipate that an in-class Show Me sheet, called
Muéstrame will be given in the next
class after a Study and Prepare assignment has been sent home. These will
provide each student an opportunity to demonstrate their writing and/or
listening comprehension, their understanding of the previously given lesson(s),
and indicate if further reviewing, practicing, and studying is needed. Students
are encouraged to seek help from Maestra
Kilmer at the first sign of difficulty, and to keep up with the work. These Show
Me sheets will be collected, graded, and returned the next class. Students are
encouraged to keep their graded materials. Revised 9/5/08.
