ABC’s of St. Agnes Home and School

 

A is for Ads –Ad space is sold in the school phone directory to cover costs for printing.

 

B is for Boo Fest- October 19th is the date for this community event.  Come dressed in costume for fun, games, food, and friendship.

 

C is for Community Counts- The theme for this school year. Monthly events designed for the family will strive to strengthen the community spirit at St. Agnes. We hope to se you at as many as possible.

 

D is for Donuts with Dad-Moms serve donuts to students and their Dads one morning before school.  Moms will enjoy muffins with their students served by Dads in the spring.

 

E is for Earning instant rebates- Scrip, our main fund raiser, earns instant rebates for our school. You order gift cards to stores where you normally shop, we purchase them at a discounted price, and the difference is our rebate. Scrip has earned over $7,000 in just one year. With everyone’s participation, scrip has huge earning potential for our school.

 

F is for Fund raising-Crucial for the ongoing support we provide the school. Our goal is to keep our children from having to sell anything. Family support is critical.

 

G is for Gratitude-The staff and administration is grateful for all we do. Thanks volunteers!

 

H is for Hoodies- And all the other spirit wear you may purchase to show school spirit. An order will be placed once a quarter. Watch the mail bag for order forms.

 

I is for Ice cream social- This annual event helps kick the school year off to a great start!

 

J is for Joint effort- Two heads are better than one to share the load. Anyone want to co-chair? Many volunteers are needed to head up committees to make our events great!

 

K is for Keepsake Crafts-$3.00 per student is budgeted for making memorable Christmas crafts you will treasure.

 

L is for Lots- Lots of Box Tops that is -Monthly collections will add up to big money for St. Agnes. Start saving them today! Turn Box Tops in on early dismissal Fridays.

 

M is for Mission- We strive to enhance the Catholic education of our children through effective communication, dynamic fund raising efforts, and positive community spirit.

 

N is for Newsletter- Read it monthly to stay informed about upcoming events, ways to help, and more from Home and School.

 

O is for Open house- Food and desserts are organized for this event in January during Catholic schools week.

 

P is for Parties and Picnic- Skating parties are held two times per year on 12:00 dismissal days. A family picnic will wrap up the year in May.  Join us for both-there’ll be fun for all!

 

Q is for Questions? –Be ready to answer them right at the adults only Trivia Night “Fun”d raiser in January. This event benefits the school library and kicks off Catholic Schools Week.

 

R is for Room parents- Coordinate events, parties, and chaperones for the teachers. They are invaluable to Home and School!

S is for Stations and Soup Supper-New to St. Agnes, this evening Stations of the Cross will follow a family soup supper. Come join other school families during Lent as we embrace our faith together.

 

T is for Tuesday-Home and school meetings are the first Tuesday of every other month. Watch the newsletter for any date changes.

 

U is for Understanding- Once you understand who we are, what we do, why we do it, and where the money goes, we hope you will become more active with Home and School.

 

V is for Volunteers- Great volunteers make great events! We need your help make this year great for the staff and students.  Many hands make light work.

 

W is for Welcome- All school families are welcome to attend Home and School meetings.

 

X is for eXpired subscriptions- Renew all your expired magazine subscriptions with us in October during our magazine renewal fund raiser.  No selling of new subscriptions unless you choose to. This fund raiser usually earns over $3,000 for St. Agnes. Magazines make great gifts for Christmas!!

 

Y is for Year Long Appreciation- We show our appreciation to the staff all year with a summer allotment of money for their classrooms, a teacher’s purse at Christmas and appreciation meals and snacks throughout the year. Plus, we shower them with thanks during Appreciation week in the spring.

 

Z is for Zero- The number of reasons NOT to be involved with Home and School.
