President’s Report:
Kathy has
completed the Boo Fest information binder for next year’s chair. The event was
a huge success with a lot of good feedback from families who attended. The families attending and the volunteers
liked that Boo Fest had been scaled back and simplified. Kathy and Beth Byers
have cleaned out all the Boo Fest storage containers and stored them away for
next year. Even though it is not a fundraiser, Boo Fest had a $400 profit after all expenses.
Scrip is
going strong with 14 new families joining in September. We want to encourage all families to
participate in this no selling fundraiser.
There will be flyers in the family envelopes that will encourage parents
to use scrip for their holiday shopping. After the Christmas break Kathy will
be introducing “Shop with Scrip” which is a way parents can get on the GL Scrip
website and fill out their order forms.
The orders will be held on the site until Beth accesses them on
Monday. Parents who do their orders on the
website will still need to send their check to the school before the order can
be placed. Kathy will be sending out
detailed information on how this ordering procedure will work. This will not
only save time but also paper expense as well.
There will be some type of promotion for scrip in February to encourage
families to continue to use scrip after the holidays.
Home room
parents are reminded about Christmas craft reimbursement. Each class is allotted $3.00 per student from
Home and School. Any expenses over that amount will be covered by the Home room
parents.
The date
for the spring system wide fundraiser Denim & Diamonds has been set for
March 29. We need parents to help by
being the St. Agnes representatives who will work with the other Catholic
schools to coordinate this event. If you are interested please contact Kathy
George.

Treasurer’s Report:
Jenny
passed out the latest financial reports for the Home & School. The only two outstanding expenses are spirit
wear orders, with one of the orders being from last year. We are still waiting to get these invoices
from the company so that the expenses will be cleared.

Box Tops
for Education earned $561 so far this year.
This amount is more than the total for all of last year. Denise will be planning a special
contest/promotion for the spring semester Box Top drive.
Catholic Schools Week:
The theme
for Catholic Schools Week is “Touching Hearts, Inspiring Souls”. The week will start on January 26 with the
annual Trivia Night to benefit our school library. There will be events and
activities planned for the entire week including a teacher appreciation lunch
and the classroom art raffle. Open House
will be on Wednesday, January 30.
Christmas Service Project:
Home &
School is considering a community service project for Christmas. After much discussion it was decided that
Kathy will call different agencies in town to see what might be a good fit for
our school families. There will be more information coming out in the family
envelopes.
The next Home & School meeting will be held January 8th
at 8:15 at the school. All parents are encouraged to attend.
Respectfully submitted,
Julie Viorel, Secretary
