Welcome to St. Joseph's 2008-09 Fifth Grade

November 3, 2008

Dear Parents,

Can you believe that it is already November?  Time is flying by and we are as busy as ever.  Thanks again for attending our 5th grade mass and supporting your child.  They are always excited to be part of the mass and this is a good way for us to teach them the importance of sharing our God given talents back to God.  I also want to thank you for attending Casey At The Bat, Fun Night, and conferences.  Your presence in our school speaks volume to your child and this reflects in their attitude towards school and their academics.  Parents please continue to check your child's assignment notebook to see when they have projects due and their weekly tests especially this busy quarter.  Weekly papers also need to be checked to monitor academic progress.  We want to congratulate Wyatt for being our November Student of the Month. Dates To Remember

November 2 - Turn your clocks back 1 hour.

November 4 - Election Day

November 7 - 1:20 Dismissal - Out of Uniform with a donation for the Thanksgiving Baskets.  5th grade donates boxes of stuffing.

November 11 - Veteran's Day

November 14 - Home and School Spaghetti Dinner - 7 p.m.  Please come and enjoy a good meal and meet other parents.

November 21 - Peace Day - Wear peace t-shirt.  Assembly 2:30 p.m.

November 22 - Father-Daughter Dinner Dance - 6:00-8:00 p.m.

November 24 - Mid-quarter progress reports go home.  Please call or e-mail any of us if you have any questions concerning your child's progress.

November 25 - Thanksgiving Mass - 8:30 a.m.  You are always welcome to join us at mass.

November 26-30 - Thanksgiving Break - This is a nice time to count your blessings and get rested before the rushed and busy holidays.

November 30 - 1st Sunday of Advent - Advent activities and service projects will be going home in the mailbags.  Help your child focus on this beautiful season of patience and waiting.

Science Project - Procedure due Friday, November 7.  Start experimenting and collecting data.
