St. Joseph Montessori Preschool offers early childhood education in a relaxed atmosphere for children three through five years of age. The environment is prepared with materials and activities geared to educating the child physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, creatively, and spiritually. The Montessori environment and materials were developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, a physician and educator who devoted her life to the study and education of young children.

The primary program goals are:

• Instill a love of learning
• Establish and encourage good work habits
• Develop a positive self image
• Develop a positive attitude towards school
• Instill respect for self, other people, and the environment
• Generate security, trust, and independence
• Instill acceptance and respect for authority
• Stimulate interest in a variety of areas
• Increase concentration and attention span
• Assist each child in exploring their full learning potential
• Develop natural tools for learning

The preschool program is offered 2, 3, or 5 days a week from 8:15am to 3:15pm.

2 day students attend - Tuesday and Thursday

3 day students attend - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

5 day students attend - Monday through Friday
