Principal's Message

Mrs. Marilyn Batson

August 2008

We are fast approaching the first day of school.  The building has been cleaned, the floors polished, the teachers are preparing their classrooms for a new year of exciting learning adventures, and everyone will be ready to greet all of our new and returning students during "Meet the Teacher" on Tuesday, August 19; any time from noon to 3 p.m.  Students may bring their school supplies and place them in their desks in anticipation of opening day on Thursday, August 21

We are still accepting new students, appointments for interviews can be set up by calling our school office.  Our average class size is the same as last year: 13 per classroom 5th - 8th grade and 15 per classroom Kindergarten - 4th grade.  This low student to teacher ratio is one of the many advantages that St. Joseph students enjoy.

Parish plans for the building of a new gym are moving forward.  Several architect's sketches have been made and will soon be on display.  The fundraising for this project is underway as well, please keep the parish in your prayers for a successful campaign.  It will be such a blessing for our school to have a gym.

Summer is always so quiet (a little spooky in our building without our kids!).  When August comes, I will be happy to see everyone again and I'm excited that I will be able to spend my time exclusively with the St. Joseph School family this coming school year.  The teachers and I have been planning some exciting learning adventures we look forward to a wonderful school year.

Enjoy your last few days of summer and we'll see you soon.
